Knautia macedonica âMars Midget,â generally called Mars Midget or pin-cushion plant Fresno, grows as a herbaceous perennial in Sunset’s Environment Zones 2 to 10 and 14 to 24. This compact plant Boise â about about 50% as tall as other kinds of knautia â lends it self to gardens as a border plant San Diego or decorative wild flower.
