We would like to congratulate the winners of the Rise Art competition that took place during the Summit - Jonathan Pinet, Abigail Barba and Emma Miller. Congrats on your month of free art rental!
From the Summit committee, thanks again to all of our speakers, sponsors, attendees, and volunteers for another successful Tech Media Summit! The Bloomberg Centre was the perfect venue, the panels were fantastic, and the discussion was both lively and insightful. You can download the 2013 programme on the home page, as well as view a few of the pictures from last Friday. We hope you enjoyed the Summit as much as we did, and that we will see you again next year!
I hope you all bought your ticket because there are no tickets left! Thank you and see you on Friday!
Make sure to get yours quick…you don’t want to miss out on the amazing lineup of speakers we have this year!
The 2013 Tech Media Summit is quickly turning into the must-see conference of the year, with new additions to the panels every week. We are pleased to welcome Stella Medlicott – CMO @ Red Bee Media, James Harris – Head of Digital @ Universal McCann, and Niccolo Rigo – Digital Strategist @ Work Club, to an already amazing list of speakers!
The committee is proud to announce confirmation of all three keynote speakers for the 2013 Summit - Joanna Shields, CEO of UK’s Tech City, Mike Bracken, Executive Director of Digital for the UK Government, and Tony Wang, General Manager of Twitter UK! If the event wasn’t to be missed before, it’s surely impossible to miss now…
It’s the day you’ve all been waiting for! Tickets for the 2013 Tech & Media Summit will be on sale beginning next Monday at noon! This year’s event, “Defining the Future of Digital,” should not be missed, with a line-up of fantastic speakers and engaging topics. Watch this space for more information, and in the meantime, check out the list of speakers and panels…see you on March 8th!
Each year the Technology Club and the Media Club come together to host the most tweeted about event of the year - The LBS Tech Media Summit. This is your chance to get involved!
The Summit attracts the brightest stars from tech and media – last year our keynotes were Chris Maples (UK Spotify MD), and Mark Read (CEO of WPP Digital). It is a great opportunity for students to mix, debate and network with the best in the industry from companies such as Facebook, Google, Songkick, Zynga, Playfish, Sky, BBC, Accel Partners, BCG, Deloitte, CNN and a host of startups.
Do you want to develop your network in tech and media, build and be part of a great team, understand forces shaping the industry, have something phenomenal to talk about on your CV and support the LBS brand? Yes – then apply for a role on the Summit Organising Committee – applications are now OPEN for students from all LBS programmes. The tentative date for the Summit is Friday, 8 March 2013.
Role opportunities are:
2 x Co-chairs: the head honchos to run the show (there is a third Chair who is a MBA 2013);
4 x Panel organisers: people to network and find our great speakers;
2 x Sponsorship: people to find us awesome companies who want to give us money and other free stuff;
2 x Marketing/Sales: these people are going to spread the word, build the buzz, and instil the greatest FOMO you’ve ever heard;
2 x Logistics: the heroes who make it a success coordinating all the different moving parts;
1 x Treasurer: the person manages the budget, sets pricing and lays it all out for the rest of the team.
To apply, please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org together with:
- your CV;
- a short paragraph on ‘Why you would be a good candidate for the role’; and
- another short paragraph on ‘What is one panel topic you would like to see at the Summit and why’
Application deadline is midnight Sunday, 7th October, 2012.
We look forward to welcoming you onto the team!
